About Stoats & Weasels

Stoats & Weasels is a Brighton-based greeting card design studio with over 300 humorous and/or design-led cards for every occasion. Combining playful illustration, bold colour and clever wordplay, the brand celebrates a never-grow-up sense of fun that’s cheeky, charming and unmistakable.

Each design is created by graphic designer Lisa Bamford, whose love of puns, typography and characterful animals has earned Stoats & Weasels a loyal following and an ever-growing list of national and independent stockists. A Henries shortlister and finalist, Lisa’s work stands out for its wit, warmth and distinctive style. Printed in the UK on FSC-certified board and paired with vibrant yellow envelopes, her cards blend bold design with genuine personality – from sweet to silly to slightly saucy.

Whether it’s a laugh-out-loud pun or a bright, graphic twist, Stoats & Weasels always delivers designs that make people smile.

About Lisa

I’m a professional graphic designer (graduating from Kingston University) many moons ago – you can see my portfolio site here. I’m happy and grateful to still enjoy my design job and have great clients. You can only get away with so much silliness on a design brief though. And I do rather love silliness… So, I started creating colourful, playful designs for greeting cards and prints designed to make you titter, offer words of cheeky wisdom, or show your great big softie side. And some teeny tiny bit rude ones, sorry Mum! Well, sorry not sorry really. My inner child is very much alive and my inner child very much enjoys shouting ‘tits’, a fart joke, and drawing cat’s bum holes. The grown up me does get a look-in though, so there’s a range of humour levels.

I live near the sea in (sometimes) sunny Brighton with my husband Alex (a talented photographer) and our two black and white cats Squiggle and Doodle (belly rub tarts extraordinaire).

Some of my favourite things:

  • Beige food. And cheese.

  • Internet watching racoons eating grapes. Or baby porcupines eating sweetcorn. Or beavers eating lettuce.

  • Silly noises. Any silly noise will do. And I often snort at some of my own. Yep.

  • Swimming (cough, mostly floating) in the sea. Even in winter. Yes, I do own an enormous coat and yes I will tell you that I go in the sea in winter.
